Niacinamide Is the Quietest Ingredient Doing the Most Work

It doesn't tingle, so people assume it does nothing. Six weeks of before-and-afters from my treatment room say otherwise — here's what 5% niacinamide actually changes, and the concentration where it starts backfiring.

Hyaluronic Acid Only Works If Your Skin Is Damp — Here's Why

HA pulls water from wherever it can find it. On dry skin in a dry room, that can mean pulling it out of your face. A two-minute change in how you apply it flipped results for half my winter clients.

Jade Rollers, Ice Globes, and Gua Sha: What Actually Depuffs

Lymphatic drainage is real; the marketing around it is not. I measured morning puffiness across three tools and four weeks. One earned a permanent spot on my counter — and it wasn't the prettiest.

Hi, I'm Nadia.

I've been a licensed esthetician for eleven years — Lic. #TX-EST-48291, if you'd like to verify — and I've read more INCI lists than I've had hot dinners. Everything on this site comes from my own treatment room or my own bathroom counter: I buy the products, use them for weeks, and write down what actually happened.

There are no affiliate links here, no brand sponsorships, and no "holy grail" hysteria. Just what works, what doesn't, and what the research says when you bother to read it.

Every product I mention gets a shelf rating — the little sticker you've seen on each post. It's my one-line verdict after weeks of real use: the price, the score out of five, and whether it earns a spot on the shelf. If a product doesn't get a sticker, it didn't survive testing.

— N.O.
